MEETING PLACE: County Government Center, 4544 Lemay Ferry Road, St. Louis, MO 63129
MEETING TIME & DATE: Second Friday of each month, approximately 11 AM to 12 noon

SIG leader: Ginny Mattler

GOALS (Photo Impact): PhotoImpact is a photo (and graphics) editing program with an extensive array of features and options. The program will not be "taught", per se, but will be explored via discussion and online tutorials. SIG leaders and other members will share their discoveries and everyone is encouraged to bring samples of their work within the program to illustrate how various effects may be achieved and various features applied. Please Note: You do not have to be a "rocket scientist" to use this program, however it does require a dedication of time and practice on your part for it to be worthwhile, as there is much to be learned. You will want to have at least a little previous exposure to computer graphics before using this program.

MICROSOFT WORD, WORDPERFECT SIG

MEETING PLACE: County Government Center, 4544 Lemay Ferry Road, St. Louis, MO 63129
MEETING TIME & DATE: First Wednesday of month. 1 PM To 3 PM

CHAIRPERSON: ALEX DOMBI
(314) 631-1587 dombi@att.net

GOALS: The program, MS word is a professional word processing program. It has a great deal to offer even to the professional person. First we explore only the features, which will offer just the basics how any document can be created. From the least sophisticated letter or document, to the moderately, or perhaps highly sophisticated document. It will depend on the interest of participants.
In forthcoming meetings we will talk about features such as creation of envelopes, labels. How photographs, graphical objects can be inserted in the document. How tables, newspaper columns can be formatted. Also how other MS programs, such as MS Excel can be linked or imported to the Word document. As a SIG leader, I will be ready to answer any questions that may arise

Our GOAL is to POOL members’ knowledge of various types of software (Excel, Quicken, Money, etc.) used to track and research financial matters such as checking accounts, budgeting and investments – like stocks, bonds, mutual funds, exchange traded funds, 401ks, 403bs, IRAs, ROTH IRAs, real estate, etc..  By pooling our knowledge we all gain tips from the good and bad experiences members have had with the various software programs.
Whether you have never used your computer in this way or have been doing it for years, everyone seems to come away with a little better understanding of the advantages and
disadvantages of each program.
